57 * Monique Dupree is Tha True Original GATA!

I’m happy to have Monique Dupree on the show – aka: Tha True Original GATA! She’s been in over 70 movies, including Standby Me and Troma’s Pot Zombies and tonnes more like Bachelor Party in the Bungalow of the Damned!

She tells us about her work life balance (she has ten kids), her big break with movies where she actually found an acting gig off Craigslist, her recent nude part in Lloyd Kaufman’s Return to Return to Nuke ‘Em High Aka Vol. 2, and gives some insight into what she’s learned along the way.

Monique is a true Renaissance Woman with so many creative outlets! She sings in her own band, models, acts and is a valet in Tommy Dreamer’s House of Hardcore! She’s even done wrestling of her own in what’s probably the world’s first mother-daughter wrestling duo, the Double D Duprees!

53 * Fhtagn: Rock Opera of Dooom with Fabian Rush

For years musician and film maker Fabian Rush wanted to make his dream project: a tribute to the seminal author H.P. Lovecraft. It would be a rock opera made by a fan who’s passionate about the author’s work and, through the power of campy B movie charm, draw people into Lovecraft’s dark world. Fabian raised $5,000 on Kickstarter, set up his green screen, called his musician friends and was off. What he created, Fhtagn: Rock Opera of Dooom, is something spectacular in my estimation. As soon as I saw it, I was sucked in and wanted to learn more!

I’m serious, this movie kicks ass. It uses its humour and campiness to bring you into a more serious and fascinating introduction to H.P. Lovecraft and his work. Devious!

47 * TROMA Co-Founder Lloyd Kaufman!

I’m ecstatic to have beloved filmmaker LLOYD KAUFMAN on this episode! He’s the co-founder of TROMA, the longest running independent studio in the entire galaxy (thus discovered).

Hit movies like the Class of Nuke’em High and The Toxic Avenger put Lloyd and TROMA on the map in the 1980s and into the VHS machines of many a high school sleepover. This was followed up by successful sequels, including Poultrygeist, Surf Nazis Must Die, Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D, Tromeo & Juliet, and most recently, the Nuke’em High reboots:

Return to Nuke’em High Volume 1: (Probably NSFW)

and Return to Return to Nuke’em High aka Vol. 2

(FOLLOWING PREVIEW IS DEFINITELY SUPER NSFW)

Many of the movies are available online FOR FREE at the TROMA Youtube channel!

So you’ll either LOVE these films or hate them. If you’re a big B movie film fan like me and you like Mystery Science Theatre or Mr. Lobo, then I’m guessing you already know about Troma.

You can watch new releases of Troma films over at TROMA NOW: http://watch.troma.com/!

Lloyd also wrote several books on how to make truly independent movies!

https://www.amazon.com/Lloyd-Kaufman/e/B001JS022I/

And it’s the challenges of making TRULY independent cinema that Lloyd will speak PASSIONATELY about during our conversation. We’ll be talking about how TROMA is truly the rebels against the evil Death Stars of the large studios and film festivals who are now under the thumb of the ruling corporate class. We’ll learn about what the death of Net Neutrality will do to Troma and other independent content creators out there too.

12 * Modeling, Horror Films & Corpses

This week, I talk to LA actress and model Jin ‘n Tonic! We talk about the recent passing of her Honda Civic (Lil Geisha); a little of her filmography — which includes a film called Aliens vs Titanic; her controversial work with Girls & Corpses which allegedly involved posing naked with a corpse; and her plans to go to a yoga retreat in Spain — help her out below! … And a whole lot more!
